Theatre Projects
Since 2012, I've been co-artistic director of on the button, alongside Sophie Winter. I've produced, written and directed shows for the company, as well as occasionally performing in them. I've also had the pleasure of making work with and at a number of other theatres and spaces including the Gate, the National Theatre of Brittany, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and the National Portrait Gallery.
Jude Starbeam and the Shadow Planet (Director and Co-writer)
2018-2020
Intrepid space explorers Captain Jude Starbeam and his sister, Major Nix, set out to find the mythical Sunstar plant. But the mission goes wrong! Jude is sucked into a black hole, and is stranded on a shadow planet… Nix searches the universe to find him, but when she does, he has changed. Will they ever be able to fly through space together again?

Told through shadow puppetry and song, Jude Starbeam and the Shadow Planet is a show for 7 to 11 year olds about finding strength when someone we love is injured, and about the love that endures when everything else has changed. It premiered at the Albany in 2019 and is due to tour nationally in 2020.

Don't Panic! It's Challenge Anneka
(Director and Co-writer)
2016-2018
Don't Panic! was a one-woman show starring Sophie Winter, which I co-wrote, directed and co-produced. It received four and five star reviews at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe, toured in 2017 and played at the Bunker in London in 2018.

The show tells the story of a young woman (broadly based on Sophie) who decides to become her childhood hero, Anneka Rice, in order to overcome the challenges of living with an anxiety disorder. It was one of the funnest things I've worked on.

Suzy Storck
(Assistant Director and Associate Director)
2017-2018
Magali Mougel's play, directed by Jean-Pierre Baro was performed at the Gate Theatre in 2017, and toured to France in 2018.

I assisted Jean-Pierre on the original production, translating for him in the rehearsal room, before helping to get the play back on its feet and touring it to France as Associate Director a year later.

For me, it remains one of the most devastating, shocking and brilliant plays I've worked on, or even seen. I kept a rehearsal diary whilst working on it which you can read here: week 1, week 2, week 3, week 4.
The Tenant
(Movement Director)
2017
The Tenant was a beautiful adaptation of Anne Brontë's The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by An-Ting Chan and Jessica Macdonald. An-Ting's company, Concert Theatre fuses theatrical texts and performances with classical music. In this way, Brontë's story was told alongside performances of Mozart, Scriabin and Brahms.

The show was performed at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
Musarc
(Movement Director)
2016-2017
Over the course of 2016-2017 I led a series of movement workshops with Musarc, a choral collective which "explores making music, listening, performance and composition in relation to the creative process, and music as a social form in the context of architecture and the city", as well as directing movement for their performances.

My work with them culminated with a performance at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
